Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs

A wide range of reforms have been initiated in the province in order to develop tourism and enable youth to get engaged in positive activities. Similarly, the potential revenues in the tourism industry can make this sector a source of income for the government and create  more employment opportunities.
The initiatives in Youth, Sports and Tourism are expected to provide ample opportunities to the youth and general public for healthy recreation.  It  is  also expected that small scale entrepreneurs would grow with the development of the sector.


Jawan Marakaz:

  • Youth Centers/ Jawan Marakaz have been established at 7 Divisional HQs, in existing government premises.
  • Being extended to all districts.
  • Youth Advisory Boards consisting of 10-13members have been constituted at 7 district HQs.
  • Districts have been provided funds to arrange youth activities under this program.

Establishment of Sports Stadium at each Tehsil Headquarter:

  • As per priority of the Govt, each Tehsil will have one stadium.
  • 33 available stadiums are being improved as per standard.
  • 05 sites on state land cleared
  • PC-I for 45 sites approved.
  • 47 sites cleared, handed over to C&W to start leveling.

Talent Hunt Programme:

  • The Programme started from January 25, 2014 for hunting best cricket talent in the province and was completed in three phases on 10th March 2014.
  • Phase I:    35 players selected in Phase-I.
  • Phase II:    In progress from 25th January, 2015.

 

Indus/Kabul Boat Cruise:

  • DI.Khan Cruise/ boat is refurbished and operationalized.
  • Opening of Supat Lake/Meadows:
  • PC-I approved by PDWP
  • Land acquisition in process

 

Development of Gabeen valley as a Tourist Resort:

  • PC-I approved by PDWP
  • Site approved and work underway


Development of Kumrat Valley as a Tourist Resort:

  • Umbrella PC-I approved
  • TCKP has got 5 kanal plot

Hotel chiarleft and skiing facilities at Malamjaba, Swat:

  • Facility offered through PPP mode through BOI&T
  • Agreement signed and Site handed over
  • PC-I being prepared for 05 log huts


Opening of Batakundi Tourist Resort:

  • Work to be re-started in April, 2015
  • Expected to be completed by end of September, 2015


Sports  Equipment:

  • Items purchased
  • Distribution expected in April, 2015


Sports Activities:

  • Plan finalized
  • Rs. 25 million is available for the purpose
  • Activities to start as per sports calendar


Events (Shandoor, Kalash, Broghul, cultural festivals)

  • PC-I approved
  • Kalash Spring in May, 2015
  • Shandoor festival expected in June, 2015
